“Romney Marsh, where the roads wind like streams through pasture and the sky is always three-quarters of the landscape” - John Betjeman

Artists, writers and poets have long been drawn to Romney Marsh as a place of inspiration, space and light.

The Romney Marsh remains a creative centre and has been home to many artists, such as Rudyard Kipling and Edith Nesbit as well as virtual artists including Paul Nash, Fay Godwin and Derek Jarman.
